About

In 2016, a pastor of Mandarin United Methodist Church, along with the leadership of Mandarin UMC and the Florida Annual Conference of the UMC, began to reach out to the areas in northern St. Johns County, FL – particularly the County Road 210 Corridor. While this initiative started as a way to reach out to the community, God led the Florida Annual Conference and Mandarin UMC to launch a new United Methodist Church at this location.

More than a Church

Longleaf Church, a branch of Mandarin United Methodist Church, is a church plant sent forth by God and the Florida United Methodist Church. Our mission and vision is to share the gospel with the members or the newly developing northwest St. Johns County. We believe church is more than just a weekly worship service, but about creating community, fostering relationships with each other and those around us, and sharing God’s love. We have developed innovative ways to engage in our faith through activities such as workouts at Training for Warriors, kayaking, and events in the Longleaf community.

Our Beliefs

As United Methodists, we share beliefs with other Christians on the centrality of Jesus Christ and the cross, as expressed in the Bible and the historic creeds of the Christian Church (The Apostles’ Creed, The Nicene Creed). As United Methodists, we focus on the Grace and Love of God for all people. The distinctive convictions of United Methodists are that the saving love of God is meant for all people, that Jesus’ love is transformative, and that the love of Jesus creates community. Because of Jesus’ love, we reach out in service to our world.

You can read about what we believe as United Methodist Christians in our Articles of Religion, contained in The Book of Discipline of The United Methodist Church, 2016.

Discipleship Plan

Longleaf Church’s Core Leadership Team developed a Discipleship Plan for our community of faith. This simple plan of Know, Grow and Go has been created so that each person who comes to Longleaf Church, whether in-person or online, will understand their path to discipleship. We invite you to look as each area represents a part of the journey in your discipleship. Each area represents the teams serving in each part of the discipleship plan.
We invite you to join us for Christmas this year! Everyone is welcome!Learn More →
