Nursery + Preschool

(Birth-Pre-K) Our nursery provides a safe, clean, and loving environment for your baby during our services. We are ready to help your little one grow and learn!

Elementary School

(Kindergarten-5th Grade) Your children will build friendships, have fun and learn about Jesus’ love for them through creative lessons, games, and songs. Your child’s safety is ensured through dependable, background-checked leaders. Our goal is that your child will leave every week knowing Jesus loves them, we believe in them, and that church can be fun.

Wednesday Nights

We understand that weekdays can be busy and we want to provide a space where children can take a break and focus on their faith. We invite you to join us for a midweek experience that will leave your child feeling energized and excited about their faith journey.

We offer a variety of exciting events throughout the year that are designed to bring children together in fellowship and help them deepen their relationship with God. From hang out days, camps, and seasonal events, there’s always something going on!

First Time Visitors

Visiting us for the first time? When you arrive, you will be able to meet someone from the Children’s Ministry team who will be able to show you where our children’s activities are held. For safety, all participating children must have a completed registration sheet. Click below to fill out a registration sheet ahead of time and email it to angie@mumc.net. Or you can complete a registration form upon arrival.

Sunday Mornings

We believe that children are a vital part of our community, and we are committed to providing a safe and engaging environment for them to learn and grow in their faith. We invite you to join us for a fun-filled and meaningful Sunday morning experience.

  • • Childcare with lesson available during service for birth-PreK.
  • • Bible Story and Activity Time offered to elementary-aged children during service. Children start and end with you in service. We will call them to join us prior to the sermon.
  • • Junior Youth (4th and 5th grade) meets most Sundays, 12:00-2:30 PM, on the Mandarin campus.

Wednesday Nights

Join us from August to May for Wednesday Nights at the Mandarin campus! We understand that weekdays can be busy, and we want to provide a space where children can take a break and focus on their faith. We invite you to join us for a midweek experience that will leave your child feeling energized and excited about their faith journey with elementary group activities and choir practice for 3 yr old and up. Childcare is also available for Birth-PreK children whose parents are attending a class.

  • – Childcare Room – 6:00-8:00 PM in FLC 834
  • – Elementary Activities –6:00-8:00 PM in FLC 837

What are the Children Learning?

Elementary

God is one of a kind, with no beginning and no end. Everything God has created is unique and one of a kind, including people created in God’s image. Every person is an original reflection of God in how they love, care for others, imagine, create, and solve problems. To see how we can do this well, we should look to Jesus. Jesus showed us what it means to be created in God’s image in the way He loved all people and helped people feel like they had value—no matter who they were or what they had done. We can reflect this as we discover who we’re meant to be and live out the individuality God gave us.
 
Monthly Focus: Discovering who you’re meant to be so you can make a difference

  • Week 1 – Image of God (Genesis 1:26-28)
    • Bottom Line: You were made in God’s image
  • Week 2 – Matthew (Matthew 9:9-13)
    • Bottom Line: Knowing Jesus changes how you see yourself
  • Week 3 – Lydia (Acts 16:13-15)
    • Bottom Line: Use your gifts to help others
  • Week 4 – One Body but Many Parts (1 Corinthians 12:12-27)
    • Bottom Line: We can use our gifts together to make a greater difference

Preschool

Sometimes we just don’t have it. We don’t have a handle on our circumstances. We don’t have what it takes to makes things better. We don’t have the answers, energy, wisdom, patience, solution, or way out of a situation. But, we do know the One who does. And, when you know the One who does, there’s no need to worry. God’s got it. That’s what we’re talking about with our preschoolers this month. No need to worry, be afraid or feel alone. God’s got it! No matter what the situation or need. No matter how big or small the circumstance. God’s got it. Because, God loves us—A LOT! And THAT is what we want our preschoolers to know.
